Rates & Insurance

I don't accept insurance directly — but that doesn't mean therapy is out of reach.

Working outside of insurance networks allows me to focus entirely on your care — without session limits, required diagnoses, or treatment plans submitted to third parties. For trauma and EMDR work in particular, this matters: healing rarely fits a predetermined timeline, and your records stay private.

Ways to Work Together

I offer several options designed to meet you where you are — financially and therapeutically.

Individual Therapy | $220 per 55-minute session

My standard rate for one-on-one therapy. This includes priority scheduling, full continuity of care, and the depth of focus that trauma-informed, EMDR, and grief work require. Many clients significantly reduce this cost using out-of-network benefits through Thrizer — often paying far less than they expect.

Reduced-Fee Individual Therapy | $130–$160 per session

I hold a limited number of spots at a reduced rate for clients for whom the full fee is a genuine barrier. These spots are allocated based on financial need and availability — not first-come, first-served. If you're interested, please reach out directly and we'll have a brief conversation about fit and options.

A NOTE ON OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS

Most commercial insurance plans include out-of-network mental health coverage — and many clients don't know they have it. If you have a PPO or similar plan, there's a good chance Thrizer can reduce your per-session cost by 50–80%. Thrizer's benefits calculator takes about two minutes and shows you exactly what your covereage is before you commit to anything.

What if I don't have out-of-network benefits?

You're welcome to pay my full session fee directly. I accept all major credit and debit cards, HSA, and FSA. If cost is a significant barrier, please reach out — I hold a limited number of sliding scale spots and am happy to discuss options.

Will my insurance know I'm in therapy?

When you use out-of-network benefits, a diagnosis code is submitted to your insurance as part of the claim. This is true whether you use Thrizer or submit a superbill yourself. If privacy is a concern, paying out of pocket without insurance involvement is also an option — just let me know.

Why insurance plans are covered through Thrizer?

Thrizer works with most commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, United, and others). It does not work with Medicaid, Medicare, or HMO plans that don't include out-of-network coverage.

Do I need to sign up for Thrizer myself?

You don't need to do anything in advance. Once we've decided to work together, I'll send you a link to connect your insurance through Thrizer's portal. The process takes a few minutes and I'll walk you through it if needed.
